Yah! Do You Have to Be Right All the Time?

Do you have to be right all the time? Isn't it exhausting? It took me a long time to figure out, but I prefer feeling right to being right.

1. Feeling right is always better than being right.

· How many times have you been right but felt lousy afterward? You've proved your point, gotten the other person to agree with you; you should be feeling great, but you don't.
· Giving up the need to always be right is the beginning of having a loving relationship.
· Feeling connected is what it's all about, not being right.

2. Feeling good about being right is always short-lived.

· The immediate boost from being right is always short-lived. This is about the ego, i.e., a momentary conquest that has no legs and will not go the distance.
· The minute the momentum of victory has worn off; you will feel isolated and alone.

3. Having to be right pushes people away and is unattractive.

· There is something very unappealing about a person who sense of self is based on having to be right.
· When you are secure, you do not need anyone to agree with you about anything.

4. Having to be right is always about insecurity.

· When you need another person to agree with your point of view and you can't "feel good" unless they do, your sense of self is very fragile.
· Insecurity pushes people away - the same people you want to be close to.

5. Having to be right takes a lot of work.

· This is exhausting work.
· Having to be right means that you are intimately invested in another person seeing things your way. Why? What difference does it make?

Yah! First impressions - it's so easy to get them wrong.

When we meet somebody new, we size that person up in just a few seconds.

A few seconds, that's all it takes to decide whether or not we like somebody, whether we trust them, whether or not we want to get to know them better. We make snap judgments about others all the time based on our first impressions of them. And other people are constantly making snap judgments about us too.

Once we make these snap judgments about other people, we rarely change our minds later.

We rarely change our minds after a first impression because humans are hard-wired to make snap judgments.

Why is this? It could be because our ancestors rarely had the luxury of taking weeks and weeks to decide which situations were dangerous for them and which situations were safe. If our ancestors came across a group of people while they were out hunting, they would have to decide within seconds whether these new people were friends or enemies.

If they judged wrong, they might not survive the encounter. We seem to have inherited this kind of brain, with its need to make snap judgments on others, based on first impressions. Our brains seem to have a built-in mechanism for deciding rather quickly which people we should trust, and which people we should avoid.

If a person seems a bit different to us, we may become suspicious or even hostile. If he doesn't look us in the eye, or if he says something the slightest bit odd, we may instantly and forever decide that this is a person we want nothing to do with.

So, are we always right in our first impressions of other people? Not necessarily. Sometimes we do change our minds about others, but it's rare. For us to change our minds about people after we have met them, we have to believe that they have somehow changed. We rarely think to ourselves that our initial impression of somebody was wrong.

Sometimes we get an odd feeling about somebody and it turns out that we are right, that person really is a crook or a serial killer.

Sometimes we get an odd feeling about somebody, and we are wrong. That person is simply a bit different, that's all. In fact, we might really find that person can become a treasured friend if we get to know them better.

Our tendency to make snap judgments about others is sometimes right and sometimes wrong.

Ask yourself if you are usually open to the people you meet, unless they prove that they are somehow untrustworthy?

Or, are you usually hostile and suspicious of others until you get to know them better?

If you have a tendency to be suspicious of those you meet until you know them better, you may be too judgmental. By being too judgmental, you may be cutting off the possibilities of good friendships and relationships.

On the other hand, if you are too trusting, you may end up getting exploited by people who will manipulate you for their own gain.

So, what is the best way to approach new people? Don't make snap judgments before you get to know them. Enter into new relationships with an open mind, and open eyes.

Yah! Relationship Help - 5 Essentials to Keep Your Relationship Fresh

Anyone who is married or in a long-term committed relationship comes to realize that at some point there is a danger of falling into a lifeless routine. The vast number of marriage advice and relationship help books is a clear indication that couples are eagerly searching for ways to head off relationship problems and keep their relationship running on all cylinders.

Are marriage problems and painful relationship issues always inevitable?

Absolutely not-there are steps you can take today to prevent marital problems from taking hold and these steps can also help improve an already strong relationship.

Relationship help: 5 steps to a stronger relationship

1. Don't let frustrations mount

Fact: You're going to get frustrated with your spouse/partner from time to time-- you're only human, after all.

Trap to avoid: Too many couples let frustrations mount without clearing the air and addressing important issues. Unresolved issues have the tendency to fester and lead to bigger relationship problems-don't put your head in the sand and assume your marriage or relationship will take care of itself.

2. Validate each other

Fact: As your life becomes more and more hectic, it's easy to overlook each other.

Trap to avoid: Becoming temporarily preoccupied with competing commitments is one thing, taking the most important person in your life for granted is an entirely different ball game. Make an effort to check in with one another each day. Share the little things with your partner like you used to (when you first fell in love).

3. Don't let the negatives outweigh the positives

Fact: Conflicts and negative relationship patterns have a way of spiraling out of control if left unchecked

Trap to avoid: Research shows that for your relationship to remain healthy, there must be a greater number of positive interactions between you and your partner than negative ones. Make an effort to acknowledge and highlight any positives that occur between each other-and heap on the gratitude for the little things your partner does for you each day.

4. Make the effort to break up lifeless routines

Fact: Your relationship will fall into predictable patterns and routines.

Trap to avoid: Routines aren't inherently troublesome; in fact, many couples take comfort in their routines. However, continuously feeling bored and unenthusiastic about the time you spend together is a concern. If this is the case, the routines that once brought you comfort may be squeezing the life out of your marriage or relationship. You and your partner need to periodically infuse novelty into the relationship-stir things up by trying something new and exciting.

5. Find balance in your life

Fact: Taking care of yourself emotionally, physically and spiritually will help you be a better spouse/partner.

Trap to avoid: There are many different forms of self-neglect (working too much, repeatedly ignoring signs that you're not feeling well, consuming too much alcohol, not getting enough sleep...) that will adversely impact your ability to be a present, reliable and responsive spouse/partner. If you stop taking care of yourself, there will always be negative fallout for the people around you, especially the people who love you. Commit to taking care of yourself so you have the emotional reserves for yourself and the important people in your life.

If the idea of implementing all of these steps into your relationship feels too daunting, pick one or two and stay with them. Each one can make a positive impact on your relationship. And if your spouse/partner is open to it, share this list and make a mutual plan to incorporate these ideas into your daily lives.

Yah! Isnin

Yes! Awl plak aku bangun arini. Padahal klas start kol 10:15. Ni sume gara2 English Awareness Campaign. Adeh! Harini aku ngn Kak Z nk g print poster kt Level 6. Free je print kt situ, tp ramai student xtau n aku pun xnk bgtau diorg. Aha. Yelah, klo sume da tau tmpt print tu, cmfrm2 notis board da penuh.

1st aku text Kak Z jnji nk jmpe kt cafe atas. Ceh, igtkn die yg tgu aku, aku yg kne tgu die. Then minum2 jap n bincang nk letak poster kt sane. Lps tu barula cari Mdm Rabiah nk mntk signature untuk print secare percuma. Hoho.

Igt sng ke nk cari die. Manjang ade klas je. Dah kne usya time table die. Konon yg jd sopan la bg text dlu kt die b4 ggu die tgh lecture, dan2 Kak Z trus msk klas tu. Tp ok gk, aku pn da xde mase da nk text2. Errmm, dapat je signature trus blah kt Lvl 6. Nak tau ktrg request poster brape keping?? Aha. ktrg amik 7 size plotter, 20 size a4. Rase2 nye mmg group aku la yg plg banyak poster plotter. Mampus, bnde pn free kn. Lg satu, group aku mmg kne bt promotion gela2, sbb ktrg dpt booth kt Lvl 1. Sumpah jarang gela student lalu kt situ.

Lps setel print, aku suh la committe lain g cari cop plak. Pandai2 la korg nk cari mcm mne. Hehe. Aku order je, Chairman la katekn. Ehe.

Yah! English Awereness Campaign

hampir sgt2 da due date untuk campaign ni.

Yah! Teringat Mase Puase Kecik2 Dulu =)

Haa, aku baru je balik terawih. Bulan ni, ni la terawih pertama aku. Mase tgh nk balik, tetibe lak aku teringat mase kecik2 dlu. Mase kecik2 time bulan pose. Wink2~

Mase tu skola rendah rsnye. Kt lorong umh aku tu, rata2 bdk naga( lahir thn 88). Ehe. So, most activity mmg sng gela nk plan. Ktrg gi terawih same2, g smyg subuh same2. Mmg seronok gela weh time tu. Naik beskal je time tu, bkn mcm zaman skng ni sume bdk skola nak naik moto.

Bestfriend aku time tu Dekwan, Elut, Erul, Mamat Bulat, Sharon, Hel, Halim + Ejum. G amik bubur pn same2 kt masjid lps asar. Mmg memory btul la time kanak2. Time nk last pose, ktrg g amik buluh nk bt tabung! Aha. Xde mknenye nk bt tabung. Ktrg bt meriam. Hoho.

Tp bile bdk2 batch aku da makin membesar dan ade yg da keje+ kawin, jarang pulak aku tgk bdk2 zaman skng yg mcm ktrg dlu. Nak kate kt umh ade PS2, mmg harapan la. Yela, sepatutnye time ni la diorg jd nakal sket. Bt bnde2 yg adventure. Kn?Kn?

Yah! GS Week Begin

Aduh, ape GS Week ni bai? Aneh2 je la. Ha, ni lah one of my task dlm subjek Essential Management Principal. Byk kot tasks/activities nk kne complete dlm subjek ni. Mule2 GS Week(18-18/8/09), then manage Convocation Day collabrate dgn department ape tah, and last skali assigmnt psl syarikat by group. Aduhai~ mengeluh je la. :(

Back to GS Week, aha. Sumpah aku xtau ape. Bukan xamik port, tp mmg byk gela kerja lain nk kena pk. Yang aku tau, if GS Week xmeriah, so ktrg dapat markah "0"!hoho. Relek ah Sir.

Last week barula ade meeting among us yg melibatkan 7 klas. Barula terkial-kial nk lantik president tah ape bagai. Within 7 klas, dipecahkan by department plak.ade klas yg dapat department promotion, business, sport, indoor games and so on. Last2 klas aku kena handle sport( volley ball).

memang letih la nak manage game tu nnti.hoho. aku rase mcm xjd je GS Week ni. yelah, actually GS Week lame lg tapi disebabkan clash dengan bulan puasa, so terpakse bt b4 puasa.aha.

seronok aku tgk wakil2 kelas ni menggelabah. ha, baru diorg tau ssh nk manage satu2 organisasi.ehe.

ha?????!!!! 2hari lagi da nk GS Week???!!! Hohoho.

Yah! Ahad

hohoho..hari ni hari yang sangat cantik sebab xde ujan. Weee~. Yelah, sape yang dok kt BMI msti tau punye 2-3 hari lps asek ujan je. Aku yang nk g cari kedai printing pn terpakse cancel. Nasib baik la Wan Irma Idayu Restu ckp bole print free kt Level 6. Ahahag, thanks God! Bole la aku print banyak2.

Aku dari tadi ckp psl printing ni bukan ape, hari Rabu ni (19/08/09), slh satu subjek aku sem ni ade bt aktiviti. so kne la print poster ape bagai untuk promotion. letih doh nk manage bnde2 ni. Da la sblm aktiviti, kene buat meeting formal depan lecturer. Adeh.

Da la, lenkali je la aku cite psl aktiviti tu. banyak lagi aktiviti lain yang xsetel.hohai~
Back to tday, ermmm...aku bgn awl doh arini even hari ahad! :). tp yg xbestnye, aku mls gela nk g mndi semate2 nk g cafe bwh mkn tgh hari.aaaa...aaa....aaaa....mmg kelaparan la aku.hakhak. Nsb baik la Amru Mat Isa nk teman kan aku makan kol 5ptg td. Hihihihi.
